Boosting Awareness for the Need for a $25.9 Million investment bond for the South O’Brien Community School District  
Background
The South O'Brien Community School District is a rural public school district that serves the cities of Paullina, Primghar, Calumet, Sutherland, Gaza, Germantown and other areas. The district headquarters are located in Paullina, Iowa and the junior and senior high school are also in Paullina, while the preschool to elementary school is located in Primghar. The district is dedicated to providing students with a well-rounded education through its academic and extracurricular programs and values community involvement, working with local organizations to enhance student educational experiences.
Need
The South O'Brien Community School District and its Board of Directors have proposed a $25.935 million bond issue to fund a series of improvements across their facilities. These projects would take place at the Junior High/High School, Elementary School, and Central Office, and are necessary to ensure that the District's facilities are up-to-date and able to meet the needs of the community. To ensure that everyone understands why these renovations are necessary, the District was seeking a unique way to showcase the current conditions of the areas across the school district that need improvements, so that community members can make an informed voting decision on the bond proposal.
Solution
The South O'Brien Community School District Board of Directors turned to Egents for help! We provided them with a Virtual Tour experience, complete with hotspots to describe each area and its condition. The tour opened with a short video of the Superintendent providing an overview of the project and the school’s needs. It also featured a drop down menu that gave visitors shortcuts to the highlighted areas. To help spread the word, we created a short video montage for their social media channels and a QR-code for offline purposes such as flyers and newspapers. Within one week of the tour going live, visitors engaged with the tour over 6900 times, with an average of 11.5 interactions per visitor. This indicates that users were staying longer on their website to learn more about the bond proposal.
